I was sort of shocked and appalled to see Nielsen asking me about my health conditions via an anonymous survey of theirs. The pop up survey dialog box on riskybusinessblog.com, a movie industry website, looked innocent enough. And most of their initial questions about income level, gender,etc. were also normal enough questions. However, the last question of the survey was all about Acid Reflux, Allergies, etc. I think this is an extremely oddly placed question and pushes the limits of what I’d release to a marketing orgaization. There’s no common sense relationship between the movie Inglorious Basterds and my health conditions – I imagine that these types of surveys will either receive a backlash or will flop with content owners.
